Visiting the Gurdwara sahib

Yes! The Gurdwara sahib is an open and welcoming space for everyone, regardless of background, race, religion, or beliefs. Rooted in the Sikh beliefs of a single universal God and equality, our doors are open to all whom wish to visit.

While you are free and encouraged to visit, we kindly ask kindly ask visitors to respect the customs and dress code.

Please dress in clean and modest clothing so that you are respectful to the temple practises and can comfortably sit on the carpeted floors. Short clothing is deemed inappropriate. All visitors must also keep their heads covered inside the Gurdwara at all times. Please note, hats and caps are not deemed as appropriate coverings. Consider a bandana or scarf to cover your hair. Scarves and handkerchiefs are available at the entrance if you don’t have your own.

There is no specific times to visit, you are welcome to visiting the Gurdwara sahib during its opening hours (5:30am – 9:00pm daily). There are daily and weekly Diwaans. During these Diwaans, there is Kirtan, prayers, and an opportunity to come together as a Sangat or congregation in collective prayer and unity.

Langar, or the community kitchen, prepares and serves warm vegetarian food daily. Langar timings are:

Mon – Sun: 12pm – 9pm

Saturday: 9am – 9pm

No, there is no cost to attend the Gurdwara Sahib. Langar is offered freely to all. The langar is run on charity, donations and volunteering from the public.

Yes, the Gurdwara sahib is always open to the sangat. If you happen to attend during a  private event, such as a wedding or a birthday celebration, there are no restrictions; however, it is important to remain respectful and mindful of the occasion.

Yes! One can request for a private Ardaas or an Ardaas in a daily/weekly Diwaan. An Ardaas can be held to celebrate joyous events, commemorate loved ones, honour Sikh festivals, to thank the Guru for blessings received or to seek guidance or for well-being. Book an Ardaas

Gurdwara sahib Sewa

There are two types of donations;
Tax-Deductable donations: These contributions can be made towards the Gurdwara Sahib Building Reconstruction and must be paid in person at the Gurdwara Sahib office.
Please note, Tax-deductible donations cannot be made online.
Non Tax-Deductable Donations: These can be made towards Langar Sewa, Ardaas, and Gurdwara Sahib functions/events.Non-tax-deductible donations can be made online via our Donation page.  

The Gurdwara Sahib is sustained by the dedicated support of volunteers from the Sangat. There are many ways to get involved, including helping with langar sewa, assisting with daily activities, contributing to the maintenance of the Gurdwara or becoming part of the Gurdwara Committee to help oversee its operations and management.
